MWC: Innovative new technologies, and unofficial networking events

Mobile World Congress next week will see the announcement of new services, innovative network technology, and unveiling of new smartphone devices. Some will win Global Mobile (GLOMO) Awards, GSMA’s way of recognizing the most innovative technology of the past year in categories like Best Mobile Operator Service for Consumers, Best Mobile Network Infrastructure, and Best Mobile Technology Breakthrough. Let’s take a look at some of the most innovative new technologies:

New Services

  • PCCW, solution for smart parking & charging
  • Jio Mobile Broadband & Digital Services, IP digital services platform gained 100 million subscribers in only 170 days
  • Xfinity Home, a simple, smart combination of security and home automation
  • Aira, a service to help blind users gain mobility via live streaming and wearable technologies

Innovative Networks

  • Huawei CloudAIR, enables spectrum sharing, eliminating the need for dedicated spectrum
  • NetOS by Zeetta: a distributed network operating system to orchestrate 5G networks and create a consistent view of the network
  • Nokia WING: Worldwide IoT networking grid

New Devices

  • LG may unviel a “revamped version of its nearly bezel-less 6-inch V30, which came with top-of-the-line hardware, an OLED screen, high-fidelity audio, and an extra-wide lens on the primary camera,” possibly adding an AI powered camera.
  • Asus Zenfone 5: “Leaked images of the the next flagship from ASUS, the ZenFone 5 sees it flaunting a near bezel-less design with an 18:9 aspect ratio and an iPhone X-like notch.” Watch a livestream of the official unveiling of ZenFone 5 at MWC on the Asus site.

With all of these innovations, you would think keeping a high quality of experience for the users would be unmanageable. However, thanks to Witbe’s edge-to-core approach, our technology can automate the testing and proactive monitoring of any of the above new services, networks, and devices.

Innovative Quality of Experience is now on-the-go!

Witbe has a QoE innovation of it’s own to share: portable Video Mobile App Monitoring On-the-Go Robot, ideal for using lab vans to conduct drive-tests that correlate GPS data with mobile video quality which is highlighted in a heat-map interface in our new Mobility Report.

Thanks to Witbe’s approach to testing and monitoring services from edge to core, we can automate testing in a lab, even a lab-van, and continue monitoring proactively in the live production environment.
