October 2008 - Witbe measures a worldwide channel change time below 1.9 seconds in 2008

Channel change time and image quality are central to TV service suppliers in today’s competitive market.
With its unique QoE monitoring technology, Witbe carried out a study of digital TV services (via DSL, cable, FTTH, satellite and DTT), looking at 30 operators in 16 countries on 4 continents.
The average channel change time measured using P+/P- was 1.9 seconds. If the user chooses the channel number, the change time came out at 3.4 seconds with a more uniform distribution than in P+/P- mode.

July 2008 – Witbe selected by Hanaro telecom for its IPTV solution monitoring

Hanaro is the first operator launching IPTV services in a major market like Korea. In order to ensure high quality of services, Hanaro selects Witbe to provide video quality monitoring platform for their Hana TV services in HD.

June 2008 – Witbe announces its new Full HD monitoring robot

This new robot complements the range of Witbe video monitoring robots. It has the same functionalities as the SD version, such as measuring TV channel zapping time, detection of error screen or black screen, monitoring availability of channels of different packages. In the HD version, it provides data on perceptual quatiy of service of high definition images (pixellation, blurriness, jerkiness.) This is already in use internationally with different operators – Hanaro in Korea, Telefonica in Spain and Sonaeco in Portugal.

May 2008 – Witbe Network: New points of presence

To expand its e-business monitoring solutions, Witbe has opened four new measurement sites: Sweden (Stockholm), Denmark (Copenhagen), Austria (Vienna) and Russia (Moscow).
